Rates
Contributions for medical coverage for all Advocate associates are based on benefits-eligible service. With the service-based approach, associates will pay less toward the cost of their medical coverage—as a percentage of the total cost of this coverage—as they complete additional years of benefits-eligible service. So, associates with more years of benefits-eligible service will pay less for medical coverage than associates with fewer years of benefits service. In fact, an associate who has completed 20 or more years of Advocate benefits-eligible service will pay about half as much for medical coverage as a newly-hired associate will pay for the same coverage.

This service-based approach recognizes the increased value over time of associates who commit to Advocate Health Care and, in effect, provides a meaningful financial reward to longer-service associates.

Note: The High-Deductible Health Plan is a “high-deductible” plan, as defined under federal regulations. If you elect this coverage option, you may open a Health Savings Account (HSA) on your own and take advantage of this new opportunity to use tax-free dollars to reimburse yourself the cost of eligible health care services.

A more complete description of benefits, limitations and exclusions is included in the certificate of coverage and Plan Summary booklets.
